The Donaldson
The first leg of the Craig Contest travels from Long Beach to San Diego, a distance of about 90 miles. Friday night berthing prior to the contest is at Long Beach Yacht Club and slips for Saturday and Sunday are arranged at the San Diego Yacht Club. The Skippers Meeting is held at Long Beach YC on Friday night and the trophy awards for the first leg are presented at a banquet at San Diego YC on Saturday evening. The Sunday following the contest is a lay day for last minute provisioning and repairs prior to starting the Craig Corredores leg to Ensenada.

| Moorage: | Slips at Long Beach YC on Friday and at San Diego YC on Saturday and Sunday by reservation through LBYC per contest instructions. |
| Observers: | Skippers supply their own qualified observers. |
| Dress: | Friday & Sunday: neat and casual boating attire; Saturday night banquet: Blazers |
| Additional: | Friday dinner available at LBYC, Sunday brunch and dinner available at SDYC. Restaurants are available within walking distance of SDYC. |
